Welcome to Taemythos, a fest surrounding SHINee and SuperM's Taemin and the mysteries of the world.
We are currently in our first round. Claiming has now closed and submissions are in December.
We are also currently hosting a Halloween Special Round!

Rules
‣ Your final works must be 2000 words
‣ Incest, pedophilia, non-con and bestiality are all banned
‣ All works must be tagged correctly
‣ Ship shaming is not allowed in any circumstances
‣ All works must be your own work
‣ Fics cannot be a prequel or sequel or part of an ongoing series you already have
What is classed as a "mythos"
This fest has a large list of what is allowed under the term of "mythos" and you can see those below:
Magic aus - this includes Harry Potter AUs and the likeVampiresDemonsGhosts (of any and all kinds)Sea creaturesMermaidsWitches (including forest witches/sea witches/etc)Nymphs, faeries, elves, etc are all allowedWerewolves or other transformation based things such as a character can turn into a bird, or a fish, or a cat, etcAnything based off a myth or legend including urban legends eg. Taemin could be on the run from a Japanese urban legend such as Kuchisake-onna, or could just be seeing death omens or be a banshee - a death omen - himself--- Urban Legends, mythos and the like can be from any country of origin. For instance, Taemin may be on the run for La Llorona from Latin America; we only ask if these are not your religion/race/nationality's legends you do treat them with respect in your retelling.
Aliens - this includes space AUs as along as there is some form of creature that Taemin is or has to contend with that fits under the term "paranormal"Any supernatural/etc television show AUs are allowed such as Taemin is a character in Supernatural (US), a Lord of the Rings based story, or is part of a creature hunting team such as GhostbustersOmegaverse is allowed on two conditions:1 - the omegaverse!humans have some form of transformation (ie, being able to transform into wolves) or it is omegaverse!humans versus vampires, werewolves, etc
2 - any sexual content must be consented. It does not have to be stated 100% out loud in speech, it can be done via actions only, but it must be clear that consent has been given
Taemin does not have to be the supernatural creature in the story - he may be the victim of an incubus, he may be the blood bank owner who donates blood to the local vampire cult, or just chilling with his pet werewolf.
The main ship does not necessarily have to be Taemin-centric and there doesn't have to be a ship at all! SuperM may be a paranormal creature group hunting supernatural!Taemin, or it could be simply Taemin-centric, following him in his life as a new turned vampire/werewolf/etc!
Halloween Round

There will be no check ins for the Halloween Round, but your deadline is October 19th 2020 to submit your fics. When done, please DM or email us and we'll help you upload your work to the Halloween collection!
The following list of tags must be included on the submission of your fic(s). This is not just for this round but all of our rounds, and any and all special rounds/events we run.
We understand that this may be frustrating to some authors but this list is to keep people safe (and also includes some tags that readers themselves have asked to be included). We are not asking you to tag every single detail of your fic, we are merely asking you to tag the following potential triggering content should it appear in your work. This is to keep the mods aware of what fics they themselves can read over whilst dealing with submissions and keeps all participants of the fest safe.
Mods will reach out to you if there is a tag missing from your work.
Sexual Content - This must be tagged in all forms. For example, if you have both Blow Jobs and Anal Sex in a fic both must be tagged. Some people with trauma may be able to read one or a few things but not all of them.
Gender Changes - We require this be tagged with both “Alternate Universe - Gender changes” and “Female [Character]”.
Drinking - any form of alcoholic drinking must be tagged
Drug Usage - Any form of weed or other illegal drug usage must be tagged. NOT required for things such as painkillers or prescribed medication
Gambling - this must also be tagged if it is present
Underage Drinking, Drug Usage, etc - anything of this type that is 18+ must be tagged as Underage Drinking/etc if it is present in your fic. Underaged Sexual Content is not allowed at all -- note, in South Korea, the legal drinking age is 20, if you have 18-19 year olds drinking and wish to use the Underage Drinking tag - or for any other situation similar to this, that is fine, but 17’s and under drinking, using drugs, gambling, and similar must be tagged
Past Abuse - if there are mentions of Past Abuse, whether it is sexual, physical, etc, must be tagged as “Past [Sexual/Physical] Abuse”
Police - if Police are present in your fic we ask you to use the tag “Police”
Racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and any and all phobias/isms must be tagged, even if it is just a minor occurrence
Blood & Injury, Broken Bones, etc - whilst we won’t expect things like a paper cut to be tagged, injuries of any form of severe must be tagged. Self injury, mutilation, major or severe bodily harm, etc must be tagged.
Dub-con has been allowed for this round and if present you must use the dub-con tag. This is “Dubious Consent”; there is also “Mildly Dubious Consent” and “Extremely Dubious Consent”. If you use the Mildly/Extremely tags please ensure also you have “dubious consent” tagged for filtering purposes
Kinks must be tagged. For instance, if your fic includes Bondage and Spanking, both must be tagged and any combination of kinks
Religion must be tagged whether it is Sacrilege, or just Religious Tones
Anything in AO3’s Archive Warnings must be tagged in both Archive Warnings and also Additional Tags. Minor Character Death also must be tagged in any and all forms.
For Character Death(s), cause must be tagged, e.g. Murder, Suicide, Car Crash (Accidental) and any other causes.
We also require you to tag things such as:
Terminal Illness
Disability (and further, if you have a Blind character, we ask you to tag both Disabled Character and Blind Character; Autistic Character & Disabled Character, etc).
Trans characters
Mental health such as eating disorders, depression, (social) anxiety and all others
These are not necessarily trigger warnings but people with these things or affected by these things may not wish to read them or save them to read at a different time.
We also ask you to consider tagging things such as Doctor (eg: "Doctor Lee Jinki | Onew"), Hospital, etc. Positions of power can be triggering to some people and we will not make it mandatory but we ask you to keep this in mind.
Any other tags that are not listed here are up to your own discretion to use. We only ask these tags be used and are mandatory for this fest and all of its rounds and special rounds for participants’ safety.
